Open Rehearsal Live in Action

Are you a student or young emerging artist of classical vocality, opera, or musical instrument from New South Wales, Queensland or Victoria? Would you like to see some of Australia’s finest musicians and a world class conductor rehearse an Australian debut concert?

SkyHigh Foundation is pleased to offer a free and exclusive opportunity to students of classical music and vocality/opera to observe and engage in an Open Rehearsal - the final moment before the one night only performance in each city of the Roberto Alagna Australian Tour 2016. The orchestra will be led under the baton of Stefano Miceli, featuring the Australian Sinfonietta in Sydney and Melbourne, and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra in Brisbane.

An occasion like this is rare. In this Open Rehearsal, we are providing the opportunity for top-quality musicians and artists to pass on their skills and knowledge. They will share with you, through your witnessing, the atmosphere, pressure, anxieties and the air of the unexpected in the process of leading up to the concert. The rehearsal of a live, one night only concert, starring an international artist of this calibre in full swing. It will be interactive and participatory, where the possibility of asking questions and discussion may ensue from an introduction with Maestro Miceli and a presentation from our guest speaker; Lyndon Terracini, AM in Sydney and Melbourne, and Lisa Gasteen, AO in Brisbane.

This is a performance led music education workface in action – we hope the experience will celebrate and encourage your talents, dedication, determination, emotion and confidence, and remind you why you have chosen this journey.
